The Hall-Mills Murder Mystery is one of the most well known, unsolved murder mysteries of all time. The murder happened in Franklin Township, and soon spread statewide in order to figure out who did it. The two people murdered were known as Rev. Edward Wheeler Hall, a pastor of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Evangelist in New Brunswick, and Eleanor Reinhardt Mills, a singer in the church choir.
Although both married to other people, their forbidden love continued until the day they died. A single bullet ended the Reverend’s life, while the woman had been killed with three bullets in the head and a slash ear to ear that revealed that her larynx and tongue had been cut out.
